PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal assembling device of a VVT mechanism capable of smoothly assembling a seal to a groove of a work by preventing displacement between a seal body and an elastic member causing a scratch or the shaving of the work or the seal. SOLUTION: The seal assembling device of a VVT mechanism is used for assembling the seal 10 including a seal body 11 and a leaf spring 12. The seal assembling device includes: a sorter 30 making the seal 10 on a guide face 31 in a guide projection 32 assembled into the groove 2f by movement in a seal assembling direction; a seal retaining tool 40 including a retaining circumferential face 41 and an advancing permitting portion 42; a tunnel formation member 50 having a compression face 52 and forming a tunnel-like guide passage by a passage groove 51 together with the guide face 31; a set tool 60 making the seal 10 stand by; and a pusher 70 including an insertion portion 71, and pressing the seal 10 which is in a stand-by state by movement in the seal assembling direction into the guide passage.
