<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer for dynamically registering an image relative to target substrate media being moved almost in a process direction along a path. <P>SOLUTION: The printer is provided with: a marking engine for generating an image transferred to target substrate media; a transport part (50) moving the target substrate media in the process direction along the path so as to receive the image in a transfer area from the marking engine; sensing systems (60, 61) for detecting a characteristic of at least one other substrate medium moved previously by the transport part and including at least one of a belt edge part sensor, a sheet edge part sensor, a point sensor and an array sensor used in detecting the characteristic; and a correction module (70) for altering the image generated by the marking engine based on at least one signal from the sensing systems. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
