PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device which prevents useless acceleration/deceleration of an own vehicle. SOLUTION: The driving support device determines whether or not the own vehicle is able to pass a signal with a green light even when it accelerates, and when determining that the own vehicle is not able to pass the signal with the green light even when it accelerates, does not execute acceleration guidance support. Meanwhile, when determining that the own vehicle is able to pass the signal with the green light when it accelerates, the driving support device determines whether or not the acceleration guidance of the own vehicle is unavailable since it is necessary to decelerate the own vehicle from the peripheral road environment of the intersection of the signal. When determining that the acceleration guidance of the own vehicle is unavailable from the peripheral road environment of the intersection of the signal, the driving support device does not execute the acceleration guidance support. Meanwhile, when determining that the acceleration guidance of the own vehicle is available from the peripheral road environment of the signal intersection, the driving support device executes acceleration guidance support.
