PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To well close a sliding door of room partitioning and storing furniture while properly reducing the speed immediately before the completion of closing of the door even if the sliding door suddenly approaches near the door closing end. SOLUTION: This door closing tool includes a bar-shaped casing 1 having locking grooves at both ends in the longitudinal direction, a cushioning damper 3 comprising a cylinder part 31 and a piston rod 32, hook members 4 pivotally supporting the base end of the cylinder part 31 and the front end of the piston rod 32, respectively, a tension elastic body 5 installed between both hook member 4 facing each other, and a cover member 8 which covers the cushioning damper 3, the hook members 4, and the portions of the tension elastic body 5 near both sides in the lateral direction, the upper surface of which is opened so as to correspond to the moving range of the hook member 4, and which can be fixed to a sliding door 100.
