<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of deriving a threshold value for identifying objectively, non-invasively and credibly malignancy/benignancy of melanonychia. <P>SOLUTION: The method of deriving threshold values for identifying melanonychia includes a first step of regarding a color image of melanonychia as a three-dimensional vector, whereof the components are the RGB parameters of each pixel, and finding the angle made by this three-dimensional vector with a reference vector, a second step of finding the probability of occurrence of pixels having the angle found in the first step, and a third step of finding a parameter threshold that makes it possible to identify malignancy/benignancy of melanonychia from the probability of occurrence found in the second step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
