PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for determining a repeater vehicle so as to perform efficient communication in vehicle-to-vehicle communication. SOLUTION: In a vehicle-to-vehicle communication system, on the basis of vehicle type information of a receiver vehicle that receives data, a vehicle to be functioned as a repeater vehicle for repeating data is determined from among a plurality of receiver vehicles. The vehicle to be functioned as a repeater vehicle may be determined by a transmitter vehicle or may also be determined independently by a receiver vehicle. Furthermore, each of vehicles notifies another vehicle about vehicle type information of the vehicle itself each other, thereby acquiring vehicle type information about vehicles around the present vehicle. On the basis of the vehicle type information of vehicles around the present vehicle, if the present vehicle is a relatively large-sized vehicle, the receiver vehicle may also repeat received data.
