PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a failure of distortion compensation by a method to be a low processing load during compensation of distortion for an output of a power amplifier included in a radio transmitter. SOLUTION: A difference value calculator 5 calculates a difference value, after phases are met, between a reference signal (Ref signal) obtained by branching a baseband signal and a feedback signal (FB signal) obtained by feedbacking an output from the power amplifier 18. An integrator 20 accumulates the difference value. A failure decision unit 22 compares the accumulated value obtained by the integrator 20 with a prescribed threshold, and determines that a failure has occurred in a distortion compensator on condition that the accumulated value is larger than the prescribed threshold.
