PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GUI which is easy to use for users, in an optical disk reproducing device, without giving a discomfort to the user. SOLUTION: If content is being reproduced (YES at #1) and the content being reproduced is not a BD-J content (NO at #8), when a user operates a remote controller to input a number (YES at #9), the optical disk reproducing device OSD-displays the input number (#10). When the user thereafter operates the remote controller to decide the number (YES at #11), a button selection search processing or a chapter search processing is started. When the button selection search processing is started (YES at #12), an image showing the start of the button selection search processing is OSD-displayed (#13).
