PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form the peripheral edges of a leg opening and a waist opening of a disposable wearing article to be soft and agreeable to the touch. SOLUTION: An elastic region 18<SB>F</SB>of the peripheral edge 15 of the leg opening in the disposable wearing article such as a disposable diaper includes an elastic band 14<SB>F</SB>. The elastic band 14<SB>F</SB>is formed of an elastically contractible fibrous nonwoven fabric and includes a plurality of first pleats 35 extending in a length direction while repeating undulation in a width direction Q of the elastic band 14<SB>F</SB>.
