PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve smoother automatic iris while restraining flicker.

SOLUTION: A solid-state imaging apparatus 1 controlling an electronic shutter at a shutter speed equal to a cycle corresponding to a frequency of a multiple of light-emission cycle of illumination includes a drive timing condition setting section 6 for controlling the total amount of light-exposure including a plurality of light exposure periods into which a total light exposure period of a light emission cycle of illumination or the last one light-emission cycle in one frame are divided. The imaging apparatus includes: a drive timing generation section 5 for generating an output timing of a drive control signal based on a drive timing condition set by the drive timing condition setting section 6; and a drive signal generation section 4 for generating a drive control signal for driving and controlling CCD solid-state imaging elements 2 based on the output timing of the drive control signal by the drive timing generation section 5.
