<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface heat source having high efficiency in converting electric energy into thermal energy. <P>SOLUTION: The surface heat source includes a heating element, and at least two electrodes electrically connected to the heating element. The heating element includes at least one carbon nanotube film having a self-standing structure and a base material, and the carbon nanotube film and base material are combined.
