PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for a sliding member and the sliding member exhibiting excellent friction and abrasion characteristics even when a soft metal such as an aluminum alloy or a steel material subjected to plating such as Ni plating is used as an opposite material. SOLUTION: The resin composition for the sliding member includes 3-30 wt.% of a polyethylene resin; 5-35 wt.% of a polyarylate resin; and the balance of a polyamide resin.
