<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength separating waveguide and a wavelength converting element using the same, achieving stable wavelength separating function without spatial system and an optical filter having complicated design when a plurality of wavelengths are propagated in the same optical waveguide. <P>SOLUTION: This wavelength separating waveguide using an optical waveguide includes: a multi-mode waveguide part 1 which light of at least two or more wavelengths enters; and a single mode waveguide part 2 and sub-waveguide parts 3 provided on both sides of the single mode waveguide part and having a narrower width than the single mode waveguide part, which are formed at an outgoing part of the multi-mode waveguide part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
