PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication method for securing security by a simple method without greatly impairing the convenience of a user.

SOLUTION: When a user accesses a Web mail server from a network in a company, a Web mail system can be used only by first authentication. When the user accesses the Web mail server from a network outside the company, second authentication for permitting an authentication server to perform authentication processing is performed after the user is authenticated as a legal user by the first authentication. When the user is authenticated as the legal user by the second authentication, the Web mail system can be used.
