<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for adjusting a light-receiving signal level, while restraining the influence due to leakage current. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes a sensor 15 having a light-emitting unit 15A and a light-receiving unit 15B; a determining unit 40 for determining the state of an object in a detection region E, based on light-receiving signal S1 from the sensor; an adjustment unit 40 for adjusting the level of the light-receiving signal; a determining unit 40 for judging an adjustment value DT for determination, when performing determination at the determining unit, based on an adjustment value D obtained when the level of the light-receiving signal is equal to the level of the threshold; and a change means 40, when a degree of influence in the leakage current is more than a reference degree, for changing the relative amount of the threshold level to the light-receiving signal level, according to the leakage current, in a direction where the degree of influence is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
