PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool in which an insert is easily attached to an insert seat part and the insert is sufficiently fixed. SOLUTION: In the cutting tool, a substantially square pole shaped throw away insert is abutted on a bottom surface and a rear end side wall surface of the insert seat part formed on an upper surface of an end part of a holder and the throw away insert is pressed and fixed by a clamp member provided in the rear end side of the insert seat part. A pressing surface of the clamp member and a surface of the throw away insert to be pressed are provided with engaging means. In the holder, in an upper surface of the rear end side of the insert seat part, an inclined surface is formed which is more inclined to a lower surface side as it goes to the rear end. In the pressing surface side of the clamp member, an inclined abutting surface is formed which abuts on the inclined surface.
