PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic waste treatment apparatus using the agitation treatment apparatus and having a simple structure at low costs, and an agitation treatment apparatus capable of detecting the moisture content of a fluid target material, such as organic waste, accurately. SOLUTION: The organic waste treatment apparatus includes an agitation means for agitating a fluid target material contained in a treatment vessel and a moisture sensor detecting the moisture content of the target material fluidized by the agitating means in the treatment vessel. In the moisture detecting part of the inside wall of the treatment vessel arranged with the moisture sensor, a wiper member removing the target material adhered and a driving means of moving the wiper member in contact with or close to the moisture detecting part are provided.
