摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector for reducing the temperature difference within a surface of a liquid crystal panel, and efficiently cooling the liquid crystal panel. <P>SOLUTION: A projector includes: the liquid crystal panel 341 having liquid crystal encapsulated between a pair of substrates, and a liquid-cooling device adapted to cool the liquid crystal panel 341 with a cooling liquid. A first translucent substrate Cr1 made of an optical crystal material having thermal conductivity in a direction parallel to an optical axis OAx higher than thermal conductivity in a direction orthogonal to the optical axis is disposed on an outer surface of one of the pair of substrates. The liquid-cooling device includes a liquid circulation pipe 51 that has a pipe shape passing the cooling liquid and is disposed along side end sections CrL1, CrR1 and CrD1 in the first translucent substrate Cr1.
