PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device allowing smooth starting even when an accelerator pedal is returned by erroneous operation. SOLUTION: The vehicle control device includes: a releasing condition determining means determining whether the releasing condition of an electric parking brake device has been fulfilled or not; a slope detecting means detecting the slope of a road surface where a vehicle stops; an estimated resistance calculating means calculating estimated traveling resistance according to a slope angle of the road surface; a drive force calculating means calculating a drive force of the vehicle; and an engine output controlling means controlling output of an engine based on input from the accelerator pedal. The engine output controlling means is configured to perform feedback control of the output of the engine so that engine speed becomes a predetermined engine speed lower limit or above regardless of the input from the accelerator pedal after fulfillment of the releasing condition of the electric parking brake has been determined by the releasing condition determining means and the drive force has become the estimated traveling resistance or more.
