PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate specifying the cause of the occurrence of a failure, and to shorten a time to be spent until recovery from the failure, by making it possible to facilitate and variably refer to the failure history in a currency processing machine. SOLUTION: The currency processing machine 1 is configured to discriminate and count paid currency for every denomination, and to store the currency in a storage installed for every denomination or a storage of mixed denominations, and to determine the denominations or number of the currency based on a payment instruction from a control part 15, and to dispense change from the storage, and provided with: a memory 5 for, when any failure occurs, storing an error code showing the site of the occurrence of the failure or the type of the failure, failure occurrence date, and failure occurrence state as a failure history; and an operation display unit 6 for displaying the failure history. The operation display unit 6 is provided with a guidance display unit 22 for displaying the failure history; and a history button for making the guidance display unit 22 display the failure history stored in the memory 5.
