The method involves producing of text or image representation for advertising or making designs for decoration by area wise non-holohedral abrasion of a surface layer (3) of the background developed by exposure to chemicals or by components of air or by other pollutions from a base material of the background (2). The abrasion thickness essentially does not exceed the layer thickness of the surface layer, and the contour of the graphical information is determined by the abrasion. An independent claim is also included for a template designed for producing graphical information.
