The device (1) has a collection point (16) provided for collecting impurities in fluid. Permanent magnets are provided for producing a magnetic field at the collection point. A magnetic flux guiding element of the device is movable via supplying current to a coil, where magnetic field thickness at the collection point is changeable via movement of the element. A concentration element is provided for concentrating magnetic flux at the collection point. The permanent magnets and the coil are arranged co-axial to each other. A housing element (36) comprises a blind hole for arranging the magnets.
