<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination apparatus which is superior in manufacturability and obtains stable illumination performance, and to provide a microscope with the illumination apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The illumination apparatus includes: a light source 1; and a collimator optical system, including a collector lens 11, for converting light emitted from the light source to approximately-parallel light.
