PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strain sensor which directly measures the strain of an object under measurement, for example, the strain of a fixed die of a rolling machine without embedding it in the fixed die. SOLUTION: A housing groove 4 is provided on one surface of a plate-shaped metallic case 2. A piezoelectric element 3 to which a lead 5 is connected is embedded in the housing groove 4 to constitute a body 7 of the strain sensor 1.
