PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a four-terminal type electronic component in which four electronic components having a part extending up to main surfaces are formed on side surfaces, and a figure formed by connecting the centers of respective four external electrodes by a straight line forms a square on the main surfaces, and the direction is easily determined. SOLUTION: The electronic component 1 is equipped with: a rectangular solid-like electronic component body 10; and first-fourth external electrodes 14a-14d. The first-fourth external electrodes 14a-14d are disposed so that a figure D formed by connecting the centers C1-C4 of a portion positioned on respective main surfaces 10a of the first-fourth external electrodes 14a-14d may form a square. A linear direction recognizing mark 20 is formed on the respective main surfaces 10a.
