PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap for an endoscope which can be attached to the endoscope at a predetermined position and can surely prevent position shift and falling, and to provide the endoscope or the like. SOLUTION: On an insertion tube 14, a pair of crest-like projections 24 are provided. In the operation of attaching the cap 30 for the endoscope to the insertion tube 14, a first engaging projection 32A is moved to the vicinity of the crest-like projection 24 provided on the outer wall of the insertion tube 14 along the guide groove 14G of the insertion tube 14. At the time, a second engaging projection 32B is also moved to the vicinity of the other crest-like projection 24. When the cap 30 for the endoscope is moved further, the first and second engaging projections 32A and 32B go over the crest-like projections 24 respectively and are engaged with engaging recessed parts 14R. By fitting the first and second engaging projections 32A and 32B to the engaging recessed parts 14R, the cap 30 for the endoscope is mounted on the insertion tube 14 at an appropriate position and the position shift of the cap 30 for the endoscope is prevented.
