<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the duplicate management of patient information related with medical image data read from a portable storage medium and patient information related with already managed medical image data. <P>SOLUTION: A media drive 36 reads DICOM image data from a media M. A control part 31 retrieves second patient information matched with first patient information in DICOM image data from a DICOM image data management DB 352 on a plurality of conditions, and makes a display part 33 display the retrieval result. The control part 31 selects the second patient information from the retrieval result on the basis of an operation signal from an operation part 32 by a user operation, and reflects the second patient information on the first patient information.
