<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel electron discharge device. <P>SOLUTION: The electron discharge device includes: an emitter 3, a leading electrode 4 between which and the emitter 3 voltage is applied, and a laser irradiation device applying laser light to the leading end of the emitter 3. The emitter 3 is preferably composed of gold, silver, copper, aluminum or platinum. The diameter of the distal end of the emitter is preferably within the range of 1-400 nm. The voltage applied is preferably within 1 mV to 1,000 V. The intensity peak value of pulse laser or the intensity of continuous wave laser is preferably within 1 W/cm<SP>2</SP>to 10 GW/cm<SP>2</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
