ADDITIVE FOR USE IN FLAME-RETARDATION OF ORGANIC RESIN, FLAME-RETARDANT RESIN COMPOSITION AND MOLDED ARTICLE OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: such an additive for use in the flame-retardation of an organic resin as does not use a halogen-based or phosphorus-based flame retardant which brings about the environmental pollution and performance degradation and as can satisfy the same strict flame retardation level as the level in the case where the flame retardants are used; a flame-retardant polycarbonate-based resin composition which is excellent in mechanical characteristics, moldability and external appearance; and a molded article of the same. SOLUTION: This additive for use in the flame retardation of an organic resin comprises a silicone-modified lignin compound which has a phenyl group directly bonded to a silicon atom and a sulfonic acid alkali metal salt group or sulfonic acid alkali earth metal salt group bonded to a silicon atom through a hydrocarbon group (but this may include a hetero atom), and in which a silicon atom is bonded to lignin through an oxygen atom.
