PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress output variations, when a control mode is shifted from a non-linear control mode to a linear control mode. SOLUTION: The switching power supply device includes command-value forming means 64, 65 that form linear-control command values for linearly controlling switch circuits 11, 12 in a linear control mode, on the basis of an error (n) of an output voltage and form a non-linear-control command value for non-linearly controlling the switch circuits 11, 12 in a non-linear control mode. In the non-linear control mode, the command-value forming means 64, 65 predict linear-control command values suitable for the load current in the non-linear control mode and use the predicted linear-control command values, as the initial values of the linear-control command values when shifted from the non-linear control mode to the linear control mode.
