PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience when observing a specimen by use of a microscope which includes a stand and a body attachable to or detachable from the stand. SOLUTION: The microscope 11 includes the body 21 and the stand 22, and the body 21 is attachable to or detachable from the stand 22. The body 21 includes an objective lens 33 or a small monitor 37, and a battery 44 so that the body 21 functions alone as a microscope when the body 21 is detached from the stand 22. Additionally, when the body 21 is mechanically connected to the stand 22, the body 21 and stand 22 are electrically connected by a connector 45. Consequently, an observation image of a specimen 13 is displayed on a monitor 12.
