PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide waste melting treatment capable of removing ash falling from a fire grate of a fire grate section of a waste melting treatment device without stopping the waste melting treatment device. SOLUTION: In this waste melting treatment method, a drying shaft 1 for drying waste, and the fire grate section 2 thermally decomposing the waste dried by the drying shaft and generating a thermal decomposition residue are connected to an upper section of a melting furnace 6, the waste is dried and thermally decomposed by allowing gases generated in the fire grate section 2 and the melting furnace 6 to pass through a waste-charged layer formed in the drying shaft, the waste dried and thermally decomposed by the drying shaft is further thermally decomposed in the fire grate section to generate the thermal decomposition residue, the thermal decomposition residue is supplied to the melting furnace 6 and burned and melted with a coke bed as a heat source, and the ash falling from the fire grate 13 of the fire grate section is conveyed to an ash storage hopper 20 having an upper damper 21 and a lower damper 22 by an ash conveying device 19 disposed on a bottom of a blast hopper 18 to be stored therein, and directly charged into the melting furnace 6 after being stored.
