PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether an attack is under way with a small memory area. SOLUTION: A hash value computing device includes: a computing section 2 computing the hash value corresponding to an input bit string; a pattern memory 4 storing conditions which the bit strings generated in the process of the computing section computing the hash value satisfy when it is highly likely that an attack is under way; and a determination section 1 which determines whether the bit strings generated in the process of the computing section computing the hash value satisfy the conditions read from the pattern memory and, when they satisfy the conditions, determines that an attack is under way.
