PURPOSE: A pipe connecting socket is provided to ensure firm watertight seal because the cylindrical part of the socket member serves as a safety zone. CONSTITUTION: A pipe connecting socket comprises a packing(20), a sealing ring(30), and a gland(50). The packing is placed in a socket member(10). The sealing ring has a plurality of spikes(40). When a nut(65) coupled to a bolt(60) is fastened, the gland is moved to the socket member and presses the spikes and the sealing ring is lowered along an oblique surface(14) of the socket member and compressed, thereby sealing a gap between a connection pipe and the socket member.
