The material (36) has a water absorption capacity that is in an order of 3.5 liter/square meters, where the material with a controlled inflation in a solid surface placed under a concrete slab (4) acts as an absorbent of a descending section of water released during concrete curing. The material is gelified when the material absorbs water, so as to constitute a sliding layer. The material is presented in a form that is maintained between a lower sheet (35) made of non-woven geotextile or textile felt and an upper sheet (37) made of woven textile or geotextile. The material is in a form of a bulk layer placed on a vapor barrier and capillary rise prevention film i.e. polyethylene film. An independent claim is also included for a method for forming a concrete slab.
