<p>PURPOSE: A device and a method for reducing the power reduction in a portable terminal are provided to user passometer without using additional MCU(Micro Controller Unit), thereby reducing the power approximately maximum 60~70%. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(160) displays a step number. To drive a passometer function, a portable terminal measures acceleration according to the movement of the portable terminal. If the acceleration is over the threshold value, a passometer function unit(140) checks the generation of step. If the operation frequency is not a 17Hz, the passometer function unit changes the operation frquencty into 17Hz. The passometer function unit calculates the step number.</p> |
