PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detector for improving the detection accuracy of an object regardless of a situation. SOLUTION: An image is obtained by a camera 4 mounted to a vehicle. The object is detected based on an image movement between two images at a predetermined frame interval. The frame interval is changed based on the lateral movement of the object in the image. Since the frame interval is changed by considering a lateral position of the object and an estimate R of the vehicle based on the lateral movement of the object in the image, an optical flow is accurately calculated, and the detection accuracy of the object is improved by setting the proper frame interval corresponding to the lateral movement of the object regardless of the situation.
