PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine, capable of improving the safety as equipment by stably preventing the adhesion of grease on the braking surface of a brake to suppress the deterioration of capability of the brake. SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine includes pivots 38 and 40 at least one-side ends of which are rotatably supported with a bearing 46, a rotator 31 mounted on the pivots, and an annular brake disk 60 fixed to the bearing-side end of the rotator and located coaxially with the pivots. The outer circumferential part of the brake disk is located on the outer circumferential side beyond the rotator to constitute a braking surface 60a, and the inner circumferential part of the brake disk constitutes a weir 70 projecting to the inside beyond the inner circumference of the rotator. The brake disk includes an annular oil basin groove 74 formed on the rotator-side side surface of the weir and extending in the circumferential direction, and an annular protruding part 68 provided on the connecting side with the rotator at a position larger in diameter than the rotator.
