摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing aluminum alloy ingot having a fine and uniform solidification structure, in large quantities and stably without adding a micronizing agent. SOLUTION: The tip part of an ultrasonic horn 28 is immersed in molten metal 12 in a casting mold 10. Simultaneously, in a state that the ultrasonic horn 28 is inclined so as to be extended toward the center side of a solidification shell 36 with an inclination angleθof≤45°, the ultrasonic horn 28 is arranged in such a manner that the center○of the tip face of the ultrasonic horn 28 is located away from the inner wall face 38 of the casting mold 10 by≥15 mm and at the depth of≤15 mm from the molten metal surface 40. Then, in this state, while applying ultrasonic vibration to the molten metal 12 with the ultrasonic horn 28, semi-continuous casting is performed to manufacture the aluminum alloy ingot 32.
