<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control device capable of selecting a display place of program information according to viewer's preference, based on the power supply state of a broadcast receiver with a display function. <P>SOLUTION: The display control device includes a preference information acquisition means, a program information acquisition means, a display means, a power supply monitoring means, and a display place selection means. The preference information acquisition means acquires preference information on a viewer from the broadcast receiver. The program information acquisition means acquires program information of a preferred program matched with the preference information from a server through a network. The display means displays the program information at least. The power supply monitoring means checks the power supply state of the broadcast receiver. The display place selection means selects a display place of the program information. If the power supply of the broadcast receiver is in a conduction state, the display place selection means controls the broadcast receiver to transmit the program information for display while controlling the display means to stop display by the display means.
