<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of a fixing belt, shorten the warm-up time, and reduce the power consumption in a fixing device of a belt fixing system. <P>SOLUTION: The inner diameter of a fixing belt 34 is set at D, a supporting member of a roller shape with a diameter of 0.26×D is inserted into the fixing belt 34, the fixing belt is suspended by the supporting member, a weight of a roller shape with a diameter of 0.26×D is inserted into the fixing belt 34, and the weight is suspended together with the fixing belt 34 by the supporting member. The extension rate ER is set as ER=(A-D)/D×100, wherein A is the inner diameter of the direction connecting the axial center of the weight to the axial center of the supporting member in the fixing belt 34 when a tensile load of 0.383 gf/mm is made to act on the fixing belt 34. The coefficient of dynamic friction between the fixing belt 34 and the fixing roller 31 is set toμ. The fixing belt 34 establishing the relation of 42.2≥ER≥0.1044×D×μ<SP>-0.5174</SP>is used, and the fixing belt 34 rotates following the fixing roller 31 in a state where a pressuring roller 32 is separated from the fixing belt 34. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
