PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate type heat exchanger having high corrosion resistance and heat transferring property, and further having high productivity. SOLUTION: In this plate type heat exchanger 60 exchanging heat between a first fluid and a second fluid through a heat transfer plate, a bottom heat transfer plate 10 at a lowermost part of a heat exchanging section 50 is composed of a two-layered clad material having a copper layer at one face side of a base material composed of stainless steel, or stainless steel, an upper heat transfer plate 20 at an uppermost part of the heat exchanging section is composed of a two-layered clad material having a copper layer at a lower face side of a base material composed of stainless steel, and intermediate heat transfer plates 30, 40 are composed of a four-layered clad material constituted by successively disposing a first copper layer, a stainless steel layer, and a second copper layer in this order at a lower face side of a base material composed of stainless steel.
