PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and selective anti-viral compound. SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical composition including, as active ingredient, at least one imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine derivative represented by general formula (Z) and intended for treating or preventing viral infections, is provided. A method for preparing the compound and uses thereof for treating or preventing viral infections are also provided. Specifically, the compound is an imidazo[4,5-c]pyridine derivative.
