RUBBER EXTRUDER AND METHOD OF SAMPLING EXTRUDED RUBBER

A rubber extruder which allows a rubber sample to be collected during rubber extrusion operations. A rubber extruder (10) comprises a cylinder (12) and a screw (14) which is disposed within the cylinder (12). A rubber sample extraction path (32a) is provided in the vicinity of the exit-side end of the screw (14) at a position in front of the rubber inlet opening of a pair of gears (22) of a gear pump (20). The rubber extruder (10) also comprises a path opening/closing means (34) provided with a ball valve (34a) for opening and closing the rubber sample extraction path (32a). A portion of rubber extruded by the screw (14) is extracted as a sample by opening and closing the ball valve (34a) with a predetermined timing.
