The invention relates to an assembly system for forming window boxes which are produced by joining modular elements including: engagement parts (5) that are attached to the elements (1) forming the side walls of the window box, and parts (6) to be inserted into the engagement parts (5). According to the invention, the aforementioned parts (5 and 6) are connected in order to form the joints between the elements (1) forming the side walls of the box, the joints between said elements (1) and the base (2) of the box and the joints between said elements and the window box opening element (3).
