<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light reflecting material which has an outermost surface improving light reflectivity of a silver coating and heat resistance thereof, and to provide a light emitting diode device having the light reflecting material at a reflecting portion. <P>SOLUTION: The light reflecting material has an alloy coating of silver and platinum group metal on the outermost surface. The light emitting diode device has at least a pedestal where a light emitting diode element is mounted, and the pedestal has the light reflecting portion surrounding the light emitting diode element.
