<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium, a method of configuring disk control information of the recording medium, a recording and reproducing method using the recording medium, and device thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In a recordable optical disk including at least one recording layer, writing speed information and write strategy information for each writing speed are recorded in disk control information, the standardized disk control information can be uniformly applied to data recording and reproducing.
