PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that, in a conventional liquid-absorptive resin, liquid absorption ability of the molded product thereof is reduced, gel is detached after liquid absorption, also safety and handleability are bad, and further, a possible molded form is restricted only to a sheet form or a fiber form, etc. SOLUTION: The liquid-absorptive resin comprising a polymer (A) below and having melt viscosity of 100-100,000 Pa s at 160°C and a shear rate of 100 sec<SP>-1</SP>, and a liquid absorption amount of 10-1,000 g/g relative to ion exchange water; and a method for producing the molded product of the liquid-absorptive resin using the liquid-absorptive resin are provided.
