The system (20) has an electronic data processing unit (21) that determines a load pressure value using a computation model and determines another load pressure value on basis of measured value of a pressure sensor (9) that measures the air pressure in an air supply line (4) of an internal combustion engine (1) behind the compressor wheel, where the load pressure value represents computed load pressure of the engine. The data processing unit detects clogging of an exhaust gas line (5) by comparing the two load pressure values.
