<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system or the like which preferentially displays an error relating to a function in use. <P>SOLUTION: A PC 70a is communicably connected to a multifunctional machine 10 having a plurality of kinds of functions, and is provided with a display part 82. A status monitor executed by the PC 70a detects a function being executed in the multifunctional machine 10. The status monitor receives status information 112 showing a status of the multifunctional machine 10, from the multifunctional machine 10. Correspondence between functions of the multifunctional machine 10 and error statuses is stored in an error status table T21. The status monitor extracts status information 112 corresponding to the function being executed in the multifunctional machine 10, from the received status information 112, and performs rearrangement so that the extracted status is ranked higher in the display order 111.
